Bob
Gladden
Born and raised in San Diego, CA, Bob Gladden has been in and
around the ocean most of his life. Bob is a very accomplished diver
and underwater photographer / filmmaker and an accomplished author.
Since certification in 1963, Bob has been actively diving for
over 40 years, Bob's diving activities have included commercial
diving, search & recovery diving, research diving, and as
an underwater documentary photographer / filmmaker.
Bob
picked up his first underwater camera over 20 years ago
and has been involved in capturing the wonders of our Ocean
Planet ever since. He continues to capture compelling images
of the marine environment, in order to open the eyes of
this world to the wonders of the underwater realm.
His
work has been recognized with numerous awards, and his photos
and articles have appeared in numerous publications such
as California Diving News, Discover Diving and Skin Diver,
and Rodale’s
Scuba Diving. His photos have been displayed at the Stephen Birch
and Monterey Bay Aquariums. His video footage has been used
on several commercial films and has been featured in San
Diego’s local
TV newscasts, and on TV specials. A number of his short films have
been shown in numerous film festivals around the country.
Bob has also contributed a segment on Manta Rays to Discovery
